November, Dubai, UAE: Dubai-based boutique art consultancy Skaya Art unveils a New York-influenced free-to-attend exhibit in collaboration with the newly opened BOCCARA Gallery in Gate Avenue, DIFC. Showcasing the work of two renowned New York-based artists, Katya Leonovich and Denis Ouch, BOCCARA’s debut UAE exhibition integrates New York’s traffic of restless commotion with art pieces created in the streets of New York depicting iconic images and personal viewpoints. Skaya Art will host an opening night at the gallery on 8th November (5 pm – 8 pm) and the exhibition will run from 9th -21st November from 10 am to 10 pm.

Visitors will be able to see Katya’s take New York City’s ‘tunnels’ between concrete building walls, open spaces full of light and an endless motion of cars and people expressing the flow of life and a city that never sleeps.
Manhattan-based couture designer and artist, Katya Leonovich, most famously known for designing Madonna’s provocative ‘Alive Dress’ from the ’90s is a world-influenced creative with a loyal following. Recognized for her ‘out of box’ techniques that break society’s expectations and divert from traditional expressions, her new concept of “moving art”, combines art and fashion, allowing complete freedom and expression.
Featured in prominent galleries across the world, Katya’s work has been displayed at the Emmanuel Fremin Gallery, one of New York’s most influential galleries that also works with top celebrities like Julian Lennon and Moby.
Showcases the Pop and Street artist’s views on the promotion of gun violence in mass media. Having begun his artistic journey with roots in post-Soviet Russia, he mainly worked on emotional slogans graffitied on walls of public buildings attesting to his admiration for the power of language.
After moving to New York in 2001, he pursued a full-time artist career while completing a degree in Economics gaining attention for his posing large-scale murals. Charmed by the democratic qualities of the pop scene, he uses his artistic ability to deliver a powerful message through symbols of mass culture in New York interpreting vocabulary and iconic subjects to reflect on the nature of human progress and its underlying value.
Denis has held multiple solo and group exhibitions in notable international galleries.
